Needs Assessment – PTP RWH

The Needs Assessment was conducted successfully for the island and incorporated geographical, social, economic, financial, health inputs and national water distribution to determine the allocation of potable water storage and rainwater harvesting systems. The resulting distribution of water systems are as follows:

  • 1,500 potable water storage tanks at households
  • 9 potable storage tanks installed at the polyclinics
  • 16 potable storage tanks installed at schools
  • 800 households retrofitted with rainwater harvesting systems
  • 22 schools retrofitted with rainwater harvesting systems
  • 20 community centres retrofitted with rainwater harvesting systems
  • 121 farms retrofitted with rainwater harvesting systems.

This assessment culminated in November 2020.

Enhancing Potable Water Systems and the Rainwater Harvesting Programme (Potable Water and Rainwater Harvesting Systems-PTP/RWH

The installation of these water storage systems commenced at the north of the island and has currently installed 727 Potable water systems and 426 Rainwater Harvesting systems.
